Moving Along

Everything is moving along quite nicely with my new project. We now have a name. Henceforth we shall be known as Backyard Sympathy. We think it sounds cool. Meredith came up with the Sympathy part so I guess she wins the mystery prize.

We will be going into the studio at the beginning of April to start work on what will eventually be our debut album. We have a killer drummer who will be working with us on that. Through him we have managed to find a very talented producer who will be flying out here from New York to work with us. We're writing and rehearsing like crazy people and I'm loving every minute of it. Everything is happening so fast with this that I can hardly believe it. I haven't felt this kind of passion for music since I first started playing guitar. I'm very excited to see where it will all lead to. For now, I'm just thrilled to be a part of a project that is satisfying in so many ways.

YAY!!!! I won the mystery prize. I love "mystery prizes"..... I also love Andrew's new project!! It's KICKASS!!!! And I get the privilege of hearing them practice when I go home for lunch, so I get free live music in my own home. I'm spoiled..... (advice for the girls out there? Marry for love and MUSIC! the money may or may not follow)

I thought the actual music was playful and melodic in a good sense, a nice mixture which the vocals floated on. A pleasent overall sound! The bad news: The lyrics are in need of a fair deal of work.

The band name suits the -backyard- feeling of it, but having sympathy in your name will not get you any. I would rather pick something like: backyard lullabies or backyards enrolled, hence the relaxed feeling of the tune i heard (the band name blog). Keep in mind i do not know what the lyrics are like and the stance you take in the issues of the world. But if you call your blog the real news, i guess your interested. And if so, i would really reconsider the band name and the lyrics. Not big things mind you, the actual music had talent!
